“FINDING NORTH” – Pivoting in the Pandemic Therapeutic Groups
COVID-19 has redefined how we live and work. Adapting to the requirements of this “new normal” has intensified stress, increased anxiety, and destabilized life plans and programs. The pandemic has impaired productivity, caused great uncertainty, and reduced financial capability and predictability.
In short, COVID-19 has increased toxic stress, enforced restrictions on the social conveniences that alleviate tensions, and has masked the faces of hurt and the cries for help.
The unpredictability of work, school, and general life routines, has led to an unexpected shift in “North” for many persons. As a result, people are not able to plan definitively, and previously well-defined goals, dreams and plans have been paused with no clear timeline to restart.
Finding North are therapeutic group interventions that provide participants with a confidential space within which to voice challenges, ventilate frustrations, particularly given the heightened stress caused by COVID-19. During these issues based sessions, participants will receive practical professional advice on how to recognize personal, organizational, and environmental challenges to their emotional wellbeing. They will benefit from tips and strategies on how to adjust to their new North while exploring behavioural best practices for optimized functionality and wellness.
